Hotel Update

Hey just so you guys all know - we got a hotel for our first night in Colorado Springs. We are staying at the the Days Inn, right off the interstate. My mom got some sweet deals through her business - $44 USD per room (single King bed room) so yeah, that's taken care of. Other than that, make sure you guys get your CD's together so we can have of your favorite tunes! See you all friday!

I just wanted to take this lovely opportunity to officially welcome our newest member to the crew. Unfortunately, Naomi Reimer had to drop out of the trip due to certain reasons which I will not disclose here. BUT - we still will maintain our status as a group of 4 roadies because Karissa Waldner has joined us short-notice for the trip. We are very excited to have her with us and she seems to be fairly stoked herself. So anyways, Welcome Karissa!

Hotels!

So I was just thinking the other day - 'I think we need to find some hotels to stay at.' So - we agreed that we would do exactly this in Colorado Springs AND at least one night in L.A. right? Thoughts? Adam - what were the exact dates for these locations so we can look and check out prices? 17 days - oui oui!

.:Randomness:.

Ah hah! Using my ingenious skills I finally de-coded the...um...code...and can now finally post!!! Ament I brilliant? So for those of you how haven't found out yet, this is going to be the most wick-awse road trip EVER!!! yeah you heard me, wick-awse. That's right. Anyways I had an awesome time sunday afternoon and I'm glad you boys got the chance to meet naomi!

Cody, question numero uno. Do you have a vehicle charger for your ipod and can it be hooked up and ran through the car speakers? Naomi has an ipod as well and we were thinking it would be better to bring those than a million CD's. Question numero duex. Do you have room on your ipod and would you be willing to/would like to/would agree to/would if you had to/ put some of my music on there?

I share with you a poem

Hey, all. Just wanted to share a poem with you that was written by a classmate of mine in Creative Writing class last year. I feel it to be especially timely.

Consumer’s Digest or Driving is Cheaper

-by Erin Morash

Fill the car
@ They-must-be-kidding-per litre
1 bag of thick ridge
ripple chips a coke
and a chocolate bar
ignore a lunch of slowly
warming carrots sticks
bottled water and a granola bar

Fill the car
@ I’ll-have-to-use-my-Visa-per litre
1 bag of nachos a paper
I’ll never read and a lunch
of coffee fries a burger
and I’m driving half asleep

Fill the car
@ Numb-to-the-expense-per litre
staying at my cousin’s
(to save hotel)
we go out to supper
what the heck, dessert’s my treat
stay up too late

Fill the car
@ Mountain-scenery-is-extra-per litre
use paper to line the toilet seat
don’t touch the taps
a package of gum a map
of western cities a paperback
whose shiny cover catches my eye
(because Catcher in the Rye is not a
travel read)

Fill the car
@ Last-fill-before-the-coast-per litre
and making up time with
nothing left but limp
carrot sticks warm water
and pallid muffins

Stop
stiff and slumped
two and a half thousand
klicks minus 326 dollars
and eighty four cents
plus 3 pounds gained
(of course that’s water weight)
less one pound of muscle mass

Ten days later
face the other way
Fill the car

So check it out - I officially quit the choir today. The hickup has been thwarted.
